Visiting teams, as shown on the league schedule, may not reschedule any game(s) without first attempting to switch games with other visiting teams scheduled to play the same home team on a different date.
Once the teams involved have agreed to switch a game, the statistician must be notified by the team requesting the switch no later than 72 hours before the scheduled date of the first game involved in the switch. The statistician will notify the home team. The home team cannot refuse to play the switched team.
Teams requesting to have a game re‑scheduled must make the request in writing and submit it to their statistician for consideration. Statisticians have the authority to approve or deny all requests. No team may engage with another team to re‑schedule a game without written approval from their statistician. This rule does not apply to inclement weather (see below).
The LCMHL has instituted a policy to minimize disruption to the league schedule and provide teams with a reasonable window to meet scheduling needs.
Any games that have been cancelled and not re‑scheduled must be scheduled by the end of December of the current season. Once the league enters the new year, all games are expected to be scheduled.
Teams may not re‑schedule league or playoff games for reasons such as team activities, player/coach absences, game start times, or playing on successive nights. All requests must be submitted in writing and approved by the statistician.
Any additional costs charged to the LCMHL for officials assigned to a league or playoff game will be paid by the team responsible for incurring the additional costs.
When a team fails to appear for a scheduled or rescheduled game without proper notification, or if the game is not played due to lack of officials or facilities, the team or association at fault will be responsible for reasonable expenses up to $75 (subject to League Executive approval).
Proper notification must be given at least 4 hours before game time to each team official, the home association’s ice or referee scheduler, or the home association’s league representative.
Statistician’s Discretion: The statistician has the authority to make final decisions on rescheduled or switched games when teams cannot reach an agreement within a reasonable timeframe.
Team officials must contact their statistician, who has the authority to postpone games due to weather. If the statistician cannot be reached, officials must contact the League President, Vice‑President, Treasurer, or Secretary.
The opposing team must be notified by the team requesting cancellation. The statistician will then notify officials that the game has been postponed and will be rescheduled.
Note: Teams may not postpone games on their own. Doing so may result in fines or suspensions.
